John Klein

Mr. Klein is the Chief Procurement Officer of Medtronic, where he is responsible for the center-led corporate teams that provide the strategic direction and process excellence for the direct materials, OEM and contract manufacturing organizations across Medtronic. He also leads the centralized indirect materials and services global organization responsible for combined purchases of over $12B. Prior to joining Medtronic, John spent 7 years with Avery Dennison Corporation, the global leader in labels, packaging materials, RFID, medical products and apparel embellishments.  At Avery Dennison, John was Global Vice President for the centralized procurement function and led Performance Polymers, Avery’s external adhesive business in a GM capacity.  John also led divisional strategy, IT and the lean six sigma organizations while at Avery Dennison where he was part of their executive committee. John previously served in executive roles at the Valspar Corporation and Lyondell Basell. John earned his BS in Materials Science (Metallurgy) and Engineering from the University of Illinois and has his MBA from Harvard University.
